Clowns Without Borders-South Africa is an artist-led humanitarian organization dedicated to improving the psychosocial condition of children and communities in areas of crisis through laughter and play.

Founded in 2004, Clowns Without Borders South Africa has provided arts based interventions to over 185,000 children and adults affected by HIV/AIDS, poverty, and violence throughout Africa. Learn more at http://cwbsa.org/history.
The theater masterclass will be led by Jamie McLaren Lachman 98, the founder and director of Clowns Without Borders South Africa. Jamie is a graduate of Yale University and the DellArte International School for Physical Theatre. He is currently working on a Masters in Evidence Based Social Intervention at the University of Oxford.

The masterclass focus will be on dynamic play and storytelling (traditional, biographical, and spontaneous) as a means of awakening a sense of creativity and empowerment through interaction with children and community. Practical tools will be obtained on how to use the arts as a means of addressing issues and providing emotional support outside of the traditional classroom setting.

Come share the laughter on Saturday, November 13. Email This email address is hidden from email harvesters via JavaScript to reserve your workshop spot now!
