Kevin Johnson will use State Library documents to recreate scenes from the life of Private William Webb, a native of Hartford, who served in the Twenty-Ninth (Colored) Regiment, Connecticut Volunteer Infantry, and saw action in several battles in Virginia. Johnson’s presentation paints a vivid portrait of one man’s experience during the Civil War, including his early life in Hartford, his recruitment and training, and the traumatic final battles.
