What is causing the transition from the Modernist mantra of "Form Follows Function" to the fanciful forms of architecture today? Is it post-post modernism, a consumerist economy, new technology or lofty expressions of the human spirit? Since architecture represents the spirit of its times, the answer to this question also relates to the dynamic changes in the global context underway today, as well as the "Bilbao Effect." Two of today's best-known international architects, César Pelli (former Dean of the Yale School of Architecture) and Paul Tange, bring their insights from opposite points around the world.  Moderated by Geeta Mehta.
