FOCUS on New Haven is a weeklong orientation program at the end of August for rising sophomores. FOCi meet with local leaders and examine controversial issues in immigration, education, politics, race, economic development, town-gown relations, and more; execute four-day group service projects; join a large network of friends; and reflect on their present and future roles in their communities. There are no requirements for service experience, knowledge about the city, etc.--every year FOCUS unites students with a wide range of involvements.
