!What can you yes to if you say no to war? Nonviolent Peaceforce is an unarmed peacekeeping force composed of trained civilians from around the world. In partenership with local groups, Nonviolent Peaceforce members apply proven nonviolent strategies to protect human rights, deter violence, and help create space for local peacemakers to carry out their work. Nonviolent Peaceforce has a field team in Sri Lanka where civil war has been going on for the past 20 years. Future projects include possible field teams in Colombia and Uganda/Sudan as well as in other trouble spots in our world. Patricia Keefe is Outreach Coordinator for Nonviolent Peaceforce. She has worked with the development of this organization since it began five years ago. Her background includes a Master Degree in Theology from Fordham University and a Juris Doctorate from the University of Minnesota School of Law.
