Anne Diggory:  Change of Course.   A solo exhibition of paintings and mixed media works, primarily landscape-based. The show runs Oct 28 - Nov 22, with receptions Nov 1st ,4-7 pm and Nov 22, 2-4 pm.  The work can be previewed at www.diggory.com. Anne was an art major at Yale in the early 70's and has been an artist ever since.     She has been featured in the New York Times and on public television.

The Lar Lubovitch Dance Company continues its 40^th anniversary celebration with four performances at New York City Center, November 5-8, 2008.  The season features several works from the company's extensive repertoire of more than 100 dances, including Lubovitch's newest work Jangle (2008), and his acclaimed Concerto Six Twenty-Two (1986), Men's Stories (2000), Little Rhapsodies (2007), Dvoák Serenade (2007), North Star (1978),and Whirligogs (1969).

Lar Lubovitch is one of this country's foremost choreographers.  Recognized for his rich, fluid movement language, masterful musicality, and sophisticated formal structures, Lubovitch has been hailed by The New York Times as "one of the ten best choreographers in the world," and by Dance Magazine as "one of the world's most musical makers of dance."

Yale Schola Cantorum, the University's acclaimed chamber choir directed by Simon Carrington, will bring its Chiaroscuro: Venetian Vespers, Savage Altars, Flashing Water concert to New York as part of the Concerts at Saint Thomas Series. The program will contrast old and new in dramatic juxtaposition, with music by Monteverdi and his contemporaries interspersed with music by two Yale faculty composers: Ingram Marshall's Savage Altars for choir, soloists, tape, and violin and viola obbligato; and Joan Panetti's To the Flashing Water say: I am, the second of two Rilke settings written for Schola and chamber ensemble. Eduardo Padro ('75) has held a gathering of local Yale Puerto Rican and Latino alumni in his home the day after Thanksgiving.  Many Latino undergraduates have their first contact with alumni at this gathering, and it has served as the basis for building life long professional relationships as well as friendships.

The Yale Latino Alumni Association of the Tri-State Area is proud to continue this great tradition!  This year, Rick Chavolla &  Anna Chavolla have graciously offered to host the event in their home.  (Rick Chavolla served as the Dean of the Chicano Cultural Center and then as Dean of the Latino Cultural Center from 1996-2001.)  Join us for a family style social gathering with snacks, alumni, current students, friends, and family - all are welcome!
