The Yale Alumni Association of Metropolitan New York is pleased to partner with The After-School Corporation (TASC) in support of a College & Career Fair on Friday, August 6th, 2010. We are seeking volunteers to review resumes, conduct mock interviews, and serve on career panels. Each volunteer must make a minimum of a two (2) hour commitment. TASC expects hundreds of high school students to participate. TASC is seeking volunteers to participate in one of two roles, as follows:

(1) Resume Reviewers/Mock Interviewer: Volunteers will conduct one-on-one sessions of about 15 minutes each to either review or give advice about a students resume or conduct a mock interview and give feedback.

(2) Career Panelist : Volunteers will sit on a panel for 45-minute session with other volunteers from similar fields to discuss their careers and pathways to their career to about 25 to 30 high school students. 

Early volunteer pre-registration is crucial to the success of this initiative.

Join YAAMNY for Saturday excursion to view "Art for All: British Posters for Transport," with curator Scott Wilcox and collector Henry Hacker (Yale College, 1965), followed by an informal lunch with the collector at a nearby restaurant. 
 
Art for All features more than one hundred outstanding posters from Hacker's collection executed for both the Underground and for the British railways, an aggressive promotional campaign that became one of the most successful, adventurous, and best sustained branding operations ever attempted.
 
We'll meet for the guided tour at 12:15 at the Yale British Art Center. For those coming from Manhattan, a YAAMNY group will meet at Grand Central Station to take the 10:07 train for New Haven; it will return on the 3:52 train.
 
Early registration is $10 till August 1. Afterwards, the cost will be $15.  Sign-up at: http://artforall.eventbrite.com

Join NYC-area Yale alumni for an adventure trip to Costa Rica on August 21-29!  Enjoy 8 days of kayaking, biking, zip lining, caving, volcano hikes, hot springs, pristine beaches and more!
